Why are Certified Roofers Better?

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

If you are looking for the quick and easy answer to this question. I first have a question for you. Why wouldn't you hire a Certified Roofer? Especially over the many non Certified Companies that will be charging you the same amount. You wouldn't just hire anyone to install your toilet or shower. You would want to hire a certified and licensed Plumber. Someone who has had professional schooling in local building codes, best practices, and hours of apprenticeship training.

Although Roofing is different and does not require contractors to go through such rigorous and mandatory licences through the government. Shingle Manufactures have taken it upon themselves to release what in the roofing industry is called "Manufacture Certified Contractors". Manufactures select very few roofing contractors with this title. This is to unsure they can manage their top tier of exclusive preferred contractors and hold them accountable to their strict standards for professionalism, reliability and unparalleled craftsmanship.

Something to keep in mind!

Only Certified roofers can actually give you the full warranty to the shingles you have installed on your home. If you do not have a certified roofing company install your roofing project, you are limited to the standard limited warranty. Yes, this is still a great warranty. But, Most standard warranties are PRORATED AFTER 10 YEARS! However, If you are Certified through a reputable manufacture, most manufacture warranties can get up to 50 YEARS NON PRORATED. To me This is a no brainer! The Extended Warranty and piece of mind from hiring a local certified contractor is exponentially greater.

Country Top Roofing is very proud to say we are Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. To view detailed information of the warranty we can provide please follow the link provided. https://www.owenscorning.com/roofing/warranty/

REMEMBER! It’s important to protect yourself and your home before starting a home renovation. Problems with home renovations are among the top consumer complaints in Ontario.

FACT: 21% of complaints to the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services are inquiries about home renovation services were related to roofers.

If you need to hire a roofer, knowing the risks will help you avoid things like scams, poor workmanship and legal liability for an injured worker.

Protect yourself as a consumer – before work on the roof begins.
